Micro Pig Size Explained

The picture on the left is of Ruby bred by ourselves and she is nearly 18mths old.  She is below knee height, fully grown we expect her to be knee height like her mum Peppa.

We want our pigs to go to good homes, so by explaining the information below we hope this helps towards your research and making an informed decision.

Sizes will vary and it is not possible for any breeder to guarantee sizes down to an inch, but we are always happy to give average sizes and show you our breeding sows and boars, also pigs that we have kept back to breed from that are small.  These are living animals that you are committing too, so size should not be the only deciding factor in your purchase.

There is NO kune kune in our Pet Micro Pigs.

This is a first generation Gloucester Old Spot 4 years old, along side her is a later generation that has been selectively bred down in size over 15 years and is 2 and a half years old now, this is an example of a micro pig.  Colours and sizes vary depending on the original breed.

You can see Defra's interpretation of micro pigs on their website; put simply a micro pig is a pig that has been selectively bred down in size over many generations to be smaller in adulthood than most other pig species.
