Why Buy Your Micro Pigs From Us?

We have smaller versions of rare breeds of pigs.

We are always happy to refer you to genuine UK breeders, in your area. There are only a handful of genuine breeders in the UK that bought breeding stock from Cumbria (Founder) and have permission to use the provenance.  Please only purchase your micro pig from a reputable UK breeder.

We have some lovely looking pigs and true world class micro pigs, we have smaller versions of rare breed pigs, no one else in the world to our knowledge has ever done this before with these breeds, this is an amazing achievement by the founder (www.valleyofthepigs.co.uk ).  Do not be mis-lead there are no 10-12 inch pigs fully grown in the UK.  Micro pigs are various sizes and it is not possible to guarantee fully grown size, we can only guide you.

We consult with our own vet regularly to ensure the best care of our pigs.  Our pigs are thriving, happy and very clean.

You are buying from people that put health and welfare of their animals as an absolute top priority, we regularly consult with our livestock vet to ensure the welfare of our micro pigs!

Our pigs are absolutely not and never have been bred runt to runt, (this is a myth created by inexperienced people who do not have any knowledge of our micro pigs or their genetic history/provenance).  They just would not survive all the generations of breeding needed to bring them down in size.  Nor would they go on to continuously produce healthy piglets.

We spend many thousands on good husbandry and keeping our pigs clean, healthy and happy.

With this in mind please be assured you are getting only the best and genuine Micro Pigs from us, but remember sizes do vary.

Micro Pigs have taken 15 years to reach the smaller size they are now, but dont assume they are teacup size this is not the case and they are still a fair size animal to look after, they are smaller versions of rare breed pigs, it has taken many many years of work and expense before these gorgeous pigs could be sold as pet pigs, we only breed genuine breeding stock and keep a closed herd, we only bring pigs/piglets in from the founder, minimising the risk of disease. 

There is no such thing as a teacup pig, they simply do not exist.  The name Micro is a name generated by media interest and they are Micro Pigs when compared to their ancestors of huge size.

We can advise you on the best pig for your environment and will not sell you a pig if we think the pig is wrong for your home (assuming you are honest with us), we are always open and honest.

We like customers to come and meet us to see what its all about and have a friendly chat.

Our piglets are fed a medicated feed or injected with ivomec prior to leaving us, it is standard practice for a GOOD breeder to worm and treat their pigs before they go, it will make sure when they leave us (just like dogs are wormed) they are healthy and happy with no worms or mange, this protects against mange, worms and other common problems including parasites, it is called ivomec premix which many breeders give in an injection form as its much cheaper and just as effective, we also use this method on occasion.  You will need to use the injection form.
